Nomad Drive Coolant Location: What Players Actually Use
The demo asks you to fill the radiator with coolant. Playthroughs show water works instead, and why a fixed coolant spot is hard to pin down.

Table of Contents
The demo's opening objective asks you to fill the radiator with coolant and turn the ignition. The catch is that the coolant can you're picturing isn't sitting in the starting house. In demo playthroughs, players filled the radiator with ordinary bottled water and the engine started anyway — so if you're stuck hunting for coolant, try water first.
The short answer
In the demo runs players have posted, there's no single coolant spot to memorise. The starting house, its garage and the roadside stops are procedurally generated, so where loot turns up varies between runs. What stays put is the fill point: the radiator on the RV itself. Players interact with the radiator on the vehicle (they describe "popping it up") rather than pouring into a jug or can somewhere in the house.

What players actually put in the radiator
In the playthrough Nomad Drive | RV Repair & Driving Simulator, the player searches the house, checks upstairs, and never finds a coolant container — then discovers that water does the job. Bottled water from the house goes into the radiator, and the ignition then turns the engine over. A co-op run, OB & I Found a NEW Long Drive Road Trip Game, does the same thing while finishing the RV build, topping the radiator up with water rather than a coolant item.
Both are demo-era runs, and neither shows a dedicated coolant pickup, so the practical takeaway from that player experience is that water satisfied the coolant objective.
Where the radiator itself comes from
The radiator is one of the RV parts you attach during the opening build, alongside the wheels, engine, steering wheel, handbrake and battery. If it isn't attached yet, there's nothing to fill. Players also find spare radiators as loot at roadside stops, each showing a condition percentage, and swapping in a better one is something players do when the stock part looks worn.

If the RV still won't start
If you've filled the radiator and the ignition still does nothing, check the other build requirements before assuming the coolant is the problem: handbrake attached, battery installed, fuel in the tank. Those show up as separate causes in the demo's own checklist, and the fan-run hub at nomaddrive.online keeps separate pages for the battery and for a van that won't start. Treat these as general checks rather than a documented coolant fix.
Coolant as a findable item
Coolant gets mentioned in one run while a replacement radiator is swapped in at a roadside stop, but no fixed coolant spawn has been documented. As of 2026-10-16, the fan hub's coolant page is framed around radiator location and refill steps rather than a specific container, which lines up with what the playthroughs show.
Version note
All of the above is demo behaviour. The fan hub lists the demo as launching 15 June 2026 and a full release planned for Q3 2026, so coolant handling and part locations can change at launch. For official status, see the Steam page.
