Nomad Drive how to use radio in the demo
Two demo playthroughs show the radio as a carryable item rather than a working tuner, so here is what players have and have not shown about using it.

Short answer: as of 2026-10-16, no player clip shows a Nomad Drive radio being switched on, tuned, or used to play anything. In the demo, a radio turns up as a loose item you can pick up and carry around, the same way you'd grab a coffee pot or a battery. One demo run that inspects the van's interior explicitly notes there is no radio fitted at all. So a step-by-step "press this to tune in" answer would be invention rather than a documented control — what follows is what players have actually shown, plus clearly labelled guesses.
What players have actually shown
The clearest radio moment comes from the demo playthrough We Moved Into an RV (youtube.com/watch?v=xgCttdFsLJw). Looting a stop surrounded by satellite dishes, the author opens a crate and reads out the contents, listing a radio alongside a revive kit, a banana and a coffee pot. He pockets it and immediately moves on to the coffee — nothing gets pressed, and the radio is never revisited. Later in the same run he arrives at a stop the game marks with an antenna tower and calls it a radio tower, but that stop is loot, not a working broadcast system: the payoff is tires, a hood and a front bumper for the RV.
The second run, Nomad Drive - Demo - This Has The Essence Of The Long Drive! (youtube.com/watch?v=YqwGmVu7XXU), is where the vehicle side gets checked. Scanning the van's dash, the author runs through an overhead light, four-ways and windshield wipers, and says flatly: "No radio." So in that demo build the cockpit does not appear to include a radio head unit you can switch on from the driver's seat. He does find headlights, and notes that an in-game tip warns leaving them on drains the battery.

If you're trying to make a found radio work (unverified)
Two conditional ideas, neither confirmed for the radio specifically:
- Place it first. Other small appliances in the demo are place-then-interact rather than hotkey-driven. The coffee pot gets filled, set down, switched on and left to brew; the stove needs a pan attached, food attached to the pan, then cooking started. If a found radio follows the same pattern, expect to set it on a surface inside the vehicle and then look for an interact prompt instead of a control from the driving position. No clip shows this working, so treat it as a guess.
- Watch the battery. If a radio draws power from the vehicle, the demo's own tip text about headlights draining the battery is the closest precedent players have. Whether a radio is wired into that system at all has not been demonstrated.

Scope and version limits
Both clips above are Steam Next Fest demo sessions, so everything here describes demo behaviour. The full game may handle a radio differently — in We Moved Into an RV the author says he is still waiting for a release date.
